How to Create a Credit

Learn how to add a credit to a patient’s account when no money is being collected. This option is used to create courtesy or promotional credits, and does not represent a payment.

 

When to Use This 

Use this when:

  • You are giving the patient free credit
  • No money was received

Common examples:

  • Courtesy or apology credit
  • Promotional credit

 

Permissions 

  • Access to Gift Cards & Credits (User Type setting) 

 

Creating a Credit 

  1. Go to Accounting
  2. Select Credits 
  3. Choose +New Credit
  4. Enter the details 
    • Patient's name
    • Clinic
    • Date 
    • Amount
    • Notes (optional) 
  5. Click Save 

 

 

Result 

The credit will be saved to the patient’s account and can be applied to future purchases, services, or invoices. It will remain available until it is used or manually adjusted.

 

How to View and Print Credit 

  1. Go to Accounting 
  2. Select Credits 
  3. Search for the credit
  4. Click the icon next to credit # 
  5. Choose View Credit 
     

A PDF will be generated that you can provide to your patient as a record of the credit.
