How to Add a Credit Card to a Patient Profile

Storing an encrypted credit card inside a patient profile allows for faster and secure checkout for future appointments. 

When to Use This 

• When adding a new payment card to patient profile 

   

What You Need

• A payment gateway must be set up 

Permissions 

• Access to patient profile > Accounting 
• Receive payments 

Contact your clinic administrator if you don't have the required access. 

Adding a Credit Card 

Add During Check Out 

When checking out a patient, you're directed to the Receive Payment window: 

1. Enter the following credit card details: 
   • Card Holder Name
   • Card Number
   • Expiry Date 
   • CVC

2. Check Save Card to safely save the card in the patient's profile 

Add in the Patient Profile 

You can add a credit card directly to the patient's profile without first processing a transaction.

1. Open the patient's profile 
2. Select Accounting 

3. Click +Add a Card 

    

4. Select a Gateway from the dropdown 
5. Enter the credit card details:  
   • Name on card
   • Card Number
   • Expiry Date 
   • CVC 
6. Click Save Card 

Result

The payment card will now be securely saved inside the patient profile in the Accounting tab. You will be able to select the card as a payment method next time you're checking the patient out.
