This article explains how to add insurance to a Patient Profile in Juvonno and highlights important rules - especially when working with TELUS eClaims insurers.

Important: TELUS eClaims and Primary Insurance Rules If a patient has more than one insurance plan, and one of them us a TELUS insurer, the TELUS insurer must their primary insurance in order to submit claims through Juvonno.

Quickly Identify a TELUS eClaims Insurer
- When a TELUS insurer is selected from the Insurance Company dropdown, required fields will be marked with red asterisks
- A blue information box appears under Policy Rules
Adding Insurance to a Patient Profile
- Open the Patient's Profile
- Navigate to Insurance
- Select + New
Policy Details
Payable To
- Select who should receive payment when using this insurance:
- Provider Organization
- Provider
- Policy Holder
Select the Insurance Company from the dropdown list
- Required policy fields will vary based on the selected insurance company (e.g., Policy #, Contract #, Certificate #, Group #, ID #)
Policy Holder

Enter the name exactly as it appears on the insurance card.
By default, this will populate with patient's name so update if needed.
Relationship to Policy Holder

Select the relationship (default is Self)
If anything other than Self is selected, ensure the Policy Holder's name and DOB are entered correctly
Policy Holder DOB
- Enter the Policy Holder's DOB
Policy Information

Enter all policy numbers exactly as they appear on the card
Field labels may vary by insurer (e.g., Policy #, Contract #, Certificate #, Group #, etc.)
| Remember: When a TELUS eClaims insurer is selected from the Insurance Company dropdown, red asterisks will denote which of the policy detail fields are required. For example, the image below indicates Plan # and Member ID are needed when Canada Life is chosen |
Optional Field
Custom Label
- If you would like to name the insurance, enter a Custom Label.
- If left blank, the Insurance Company name will display.
Adjusters
If applicable, add the Adjuster (e.g., for a motor vehicle accident claim)
- Click into the Adjuster field and begin typing the Adjuster's name
2. If the Adjuster already exists as Contact, select their name
3. If not:
- Click the dropdown arrow
- Select +Add to create a new Contact
4. Choose Adjuster as the contact type, enter contacts details and click Save
| Note: You can manage Adjusters and other contacts by going to Settings > Companies & Contacts > Contacts |
Deductible
If known, you can enter the deductible details. However, this is not necessary. When you submit the claim, it will indicate whether you need to collect the deductible from the patient. If the patient submits the claim manually, the deductible will be deducted from their reimbursement.

For TELUS insurers
- Do not adjust the Policy Rules
- Ensure coverage is set to Percentage Coverage 100%
Non-TELUS Insurers
Coverage Types Explained
Default
- Coverage is the same across each category (e.g., all services are covered at 80%)
- Enter in the Percentage Coverage
Block Fee
- Used when a patient has received a set dollar amount for services (e.g., an motor vehicle accident claim)
- Enter:
- Start Date
- End Date (required)
- Amount
- The remaining balance will decrease as services are used
- Enter:
| Note: If no End Date is provided, choose a date far in the future (e.g., 2 years). The End Date can be updated later. |
Per Category
Used when coverage varies by service type.
Example:
- Chiropractic: 80%
- Massage Therapy: 50%

Other
Billing Order
- For clients with more than one insurance plan, choose the order you would like this insurance to be billed.

Status
- Active: Insurance can be used
- Inactive: Insurance is no longer applicable
