How to Add Schedule Types

  • Updated

Learn how to create a new Schedule Type. A Schedule Type acts as the link between practitioners, services, and availability. It is assigned to products and services and to practitioners, and is used when creating a practitioner's scheduling hours. When online booking is enabled, Schedule Types also control which services can be booked with which provider.

Creating New Schedule Types

  • Code: Optional field. Enter a code if your organization uses them for tracking or reporting.
  • Name: Enter the name of the Schedule Type.
  • Clinic: In a multi clinic setup, choose whether this Schedule Type is available to all clinics or only a specific one.
  • Default Duration: Set the default appointment length for bookings that do not include a product or service. If a product or service is selected, its default duration will override this setting.
  • Allowed Conflicts: Choose whether multiple appointments can be booked at the same time under this Schedule Type. If conflicts are not allowed, users will need to manually override to double book.
  • Allow Telehealth Appointments: If Telehealth is enabled, select whether this Schedule Type can be used for virtual appointments.
  • Background Colour: Select a color to visually differentiate this Schedule Type from others in the schedule.
  • Font Colour: If you choose a dark or bold background color, adjust the font color to ensure the appointment text remains easy to read.
  1. Click Save

Tip: After you've picked your colour, make sure you hit Choose so the colour you've selected saves

Best Practices

  • Set up one Schedule Type per discipline, per location
    • If your clinic has physiotherapy, massage, and chiropractic services then you'll set up one for each of those disciplines
      • Physiotherapy
      • Massage Therapy
      • Chiropractic

  • If your organization has more than one clinic, then you will set up each of those disciplines for each clinic
    • Physiotherapy - Clinic One
    • Physiotherapy - Clinic Two
    • Massage Therapy - Clinic One
    • Massage Therapy Clinic Two
    • Chiropractic - Clinic One
    • Chiropractic - Clinic Two
