You can use Medical Warnings to alert staff to important medical information about a patient. Medical Warnings can be added from the patient's Patient Profile while completing intake or while charting.
When a Medical Warning is added, the Medical Warnings tab is highlighted in red to make it easy for staff to notice.
When to Use This
Use Medical Warnings when you want to highlight important medical information that staff should be aware of while charting.
What You Need
- Medical Warnings enabled in the Medical Profile settings
To enable Medical Warnings:
- Go to Settings
- Under System & Company Settings, select General
- Click Patients
- Go to the Medical Profile section
- Find Medical Warnings and select Enabled
- Click Save
Contact your clinic administrator if you don't have the required access.
Adding a Medical Warning During Intake
- Open the patient's Patient Profile
- Go to the Intake tab
- Under Medical Warnings, click +Add
- Enter the relevant information
- Click Save Warning
Adding a Medical Warning While Charting
While in a chart, click Medical Warnings
- Go to Medical Warnings
Click +Add
- Enter the relevant information
- Click Save Warning
Result
Once a Medical Warning is added:
The text on the Medical Warnings tab will be red to alert staff that a warning is available
- The warning can be viewed in the Medical Warnings section of the patient's Intake tab
Things to Know
- Medical Warnings can be added at any time from the patient's Intake tab
- Adding a Medical Warning during intake or while charting saves it to the same Medical Warnings section
- The red highlight helps ensure staff are aware that important medical information is available for the patient
- The colour block of the Severity may appear as green, orange, or red depending on the severity selected
