What You Need
- Access to a patient's chart
- AI tools enabled in your General System Settings
Using AI SOAP Notes
AI SOAP Notes can organize your observations into a structured SOAP note and refine spelling and grammar. You can use it with notes you've entered manually or with a transcript created using dictation.
Enter your notes in one of your templates in the Observations tab inside the patient’s chart
- Go to the Notes tab
- Click Run AI SOAP
- Review the generated SOAP note
Make any necessary edits
- Click Complete & Close to finish your chart

Your observations are transformed into organized, easy-to-read documentation that is saved as part of the patient's chart.
Things to Know
- Review all AI-generated transcripts and SOAP notes before completing your chart
- You can edit the content generated by AI before saving your chart
- AI SOAP Notes are generated exclusively from the content entered in the Observations tab
- The feature is not available for information entered into the Notes tab
| 💡Tip: If you want to use the AI SOAP feature, but you like writing your notes in the Notes tab then create a chart template with just the Long Answer element in the Form Builder. This allows you to get the same charting experience, but use the AI SOAP feature. |
