Congratulations on signing up for JComm! To help you make the most of its features, we recommend a few initial adjustments to get started seamlessly.
Note: Familiarize yourself with User Type settings before proceeding. These allow you to control access to specific JComm features based on staff roles. |
Step 1: Adjust Staff User Types
- Go to Settings > User Types.
- Open a User Type and navigate to the Communications section.
- Grant or Restrict access to JComm features as needed based on the User Type.
Step 2: Enable Two-Way Texting
Two-way Texting allows you to send and receive messages with patients. Here’s how to enable it for staff:
- Go to Settings > Administrators or Practitioners.
- Open the employee's profile.
3. Navigate to the Preferences tab.
4. Set Receive Incoming Text Notifications to Yes, then click Save & Exit.
They will now have the ability to text patients directly from Juvonno. Repeat this process for each employee who needs access to Two-Way Texting.
Step 3: Using JComm Team Chat
Team Chat allows instant messaging between employees logged into Juvonno. After subscribing to JComm, Team Chat is automatically enabled for any User Type with granted access.
To send a message:

- Open Team Chat by clicking the chat icon.
- Select a person’s name to open a chat window.
- Type your message in the text box at the bottom of the screen and press Enter/Return to send.
Step 4: Using Direct Messages
Direct Messages offer a secure and speedy alternative to email for communicating with staff and patients. Messages are stored within Juvonno or the Juvonno Patient App.
Sending Direct Messages to Staff Members
Step 1
Click the Direct Message icon and select New Message.
Step 2
Under Send To choose to send your message to an Individual, Staff Group, Clinic, Region, or All Staff.
Step 3
When sending to an Individual, enter their name in the Individual field. Then select their name from the results
Step 4
When sending to a Staff Group, Clinic, or Region, select the appropriate segment from the drop-down menu.
Step 5
If the message pertains to a patient, enter their name in the Patient field. You can also set:
- Priority: Marks the message as important.
- Force View on Login: Displays the message as a pop-up the next time the recipient logs in.
Important: If a Patient is selected, the messages will be logged inside their Patient Profile under Messages |
Step 6
Add your Subject, Message and include any Attachments, then click Send.
The Result
Recipients will receive a notification, and the message will be stored in the Direct Message menu for future reference.
Sending Direct Messages to Patients via the Juvonno Patient App
Important: Ensure the Patient Portal is enabled, and the patient has downloaded the Juvonno Patient App to receive Direct Messages. |
Step 1
Click the Direct Message icon and select New Message.
Step 2
Under Send To, select Customer from the dropdown menu, then enter their name in the Patient field.
Important: These messages are logged inside the Patient Profile under Messages and can be viewed by other users |
Step 3
Add your Subject, Message and include any Attachments then click Send.
The Result
The patient will receive a push notification from the Juvonno App, alerting them to a new message.
They can open the app, read the message, and reply directly.
Replies will be stored in the Direct Message menu for easy access.
Step 5: Creating JComm Email & Text Campaigns
Use JComm’s pre-made and customizable templates to connect with patients through targeted campaigns.
Step 1
Start a New Campaign:
- Hover over the Campaigns icon and select New Campaign.
Step 2
Choose Campaign Type and Template:
- Select either Email or Text, choose a Template then Continue
Tip: We highly recommend starting with the Download Juvonno Mobile App template to fully utilize secure Direct Messaging and mobile notifications to patients. |
Enter your Campaign Name then click Build My Campaign.
Step 3
Customize Campaign Details:
- Edit the Subject and Message as needed.
- Review and adjust parameters:
- Audience: Choose your target recipients.
- Trigger: Set the event that will trigger the campaign (e.g., birthdays, last appointment).
- Scheduling: Specify the timing of your campaign. For ongoing campaigns, check the Ongoing box.
Once you've finished making changes, click Save.
Step 4
Test your campaign and set it live:
- Under Campaign Overview, select Send a Sample Message to preview your campaign.n you've built.
- Review and make any necessary edits.
- Once satisfied, select Set Campaign Live to activate your campaign.
The Result
Your campaign will send automatically to patients matching the parameters you’ve set, ensuring timely and effective communication.
